Our Mission
Our mission is to be a worshiping community of disciples, where all are welcome, friends become family, and we walk together in the footsteps of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Resurrection Lutheran Church in Mitchell, South Dakota, is a part of the Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC). We confess that the Holy Scriptures (The Bible) are the Word of God and are the norm of our faith and life. We accept, teach, and confess the Apostles’, the Nicene, and the Athanasian Creeds. We also acknowledge the Lutheran confessional documents as true witnesses and faithful expositions of the Holy Scriptures.
We believe that regardless of background, ethnicity, political ideology, or any earthly factor, all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) We believe that, despite that sin, Jesus Christ, out of love for us and obedience to the Father, died on a cross as payment for our sin. (Romans 5:8) We believe that nothing we do can resolve our sin, but that only through the work of Jesus Christ on the cross can we be absolved from our sins and fallen state. (Ephesians 2:8-9) We believe that we, as followers of Christ, are the church, bonded together in confession of Christ as our Lord and Savior. (Matthew 16:15-18)
Service Times
Worship service is on Sunday mornings at 9:30 am with Sunday school and fellowship following the service at 10:30 am. We pray that you will join us sometime!
